Bansko is a unique Bulgarian town of international importance to the tourism. Apart from the beautiful Pirin mountain and the numerous spots of natural beauty, the town also boasts its many historical sites.

The town is famous for its well-preserved traditions and culture, its original Revival-period architecture and its local culinary specialities (Banski shashlik, Banska kapama). Bansko is the birthplace of famous Bulgarian enlighteners, poets, writers, painters, iconographers and revolutionaries. Visitors to this mountain town have always left it captivated by the spirit of the people of Bansko wishing they could once again return to the heart of Pirin.

Every summer Bansko hosts The International Jazz Fest, which originates to 1998. Many famous Bulgarian and international jazz musicians visit the town for these six magical days. So far musicians from 15 foreign countries have performed on the stage of the Jazz Fest in the small mountain town. Nancy King, Steve Christopherson, Scott Hamilton and many others have played here.
